On 1 August 2017 at about 3.50am, a 27-year-old male Singaporean Tay Chun Aik drove his car from Malaysia towards the Woodlands checkpoint and sought arrival clearance. He was directed by Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officers for further checks. During the course of checks, Tay was uncooperative and used abusive words at an ICA officer. Tay was referred to Police for investigations.
