MINISTER TEO MEETS THAI PRIME MINISTER AND DEFENCE MINISTER
Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean met the Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, His Excellency Samak Sundaravej this evening. Prime Minister Samak is visiting Singapore from 18 to 20 March 2008 at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Prime Minister Samak called on President S R Nathan and Prime Minister Lee and, had a meeting with Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew today.
Minister Teo and Prime Minister Samak's meeting underscores the long-standing and close defence relations between Thailand and Singapore. The Singapore Armed Forces and the Royal Thai Armed Forces interact regularly through exercises, courses and other professional exchanges. These interactions serve to strengthen the friendship and mutual understanding between the two armed forces.
