VISIT BY HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS PRINCE KHALID BIN SULTAN ABDUL AZIZ AL SAUD

His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Bin Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Assistant Minister of Defence and Aviation, and Inspector-General for Military Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is visiting Singapore from 15 to 23 February 2008 at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. His Royal Highness called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong today and was hosted to an official dinner by Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean this evening. His Royal Highness will also call on Minister for Transport Raymond Lim tomorrow.

In conjunction with the visit, His Royal Highness will attend the inaugural Singapore Airshow 2008, which will be held from 19 to 24 February 2008. His Royal Highness served as the Co-Commander of Joint Forces and the Theatre of Operations during the Gulf War of 1990-91, and will be sharing perspectives on the Gulf War at a lunch discussion with senior Singapore Armed Forces officers. His Royal Highness will also be visiting the SAFTI Military Institute.

The visit by His Royal Highness underscores the friendly defence relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Singapore. The Royal Saudi Armed Forces interacts with the Singapore Armed Forces through the attendance of courses and international events which foster mutual understanding between the two armed forces.
