ATTENDANCE OF MINISTER FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS GEORGE YEO

AT THE FORUM FOR EAST ASIA-LATIN AMERICA COOPERATION (FEALAC)

Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo will attend the FEALAC Foreign Ministers' Meeting (FMM) in Brasilia, Brazil, from 22 to 23 August 2007. At the FEALAC FMM, Minister Yeo will exchange views with his East Asian and Latin American counterparts on issues of common concern and explore ways to promote greater cooperation between the two regions. Minister Yeo will remain in Brazil for a bilateral visit after the FEALAC FMM. He is scheduled to meet members of the Brazilian Cabinet, Governors, Senators, and business leaders.

Minister Yeo will depart Brazil for Lisbon, Portugal, where he will make a working visit from 29 to 31 August 2007. In Lisbon, he will meet the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Portugal, His Excellency Luis Amado. Portugal now holds the Presidency of the European Union.
