ST AEROSPACE AWARDED CONTRACTS TO UPGRADE AND MAINTAIN RSAF AIRCRAFT

1.         The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) has awarded two service contracts to Singapore Technologies Aerospace Ltd (ST Aerospace). The first contract is to upgrade the RSAF's C-130 transport aircraft. The second contract is for the maintainance of its current fleet of A-4SU Skyhawks.

2.         Under the first contract, ST Aerospace will upgrade the aircraft avionics, mission equipment and self protection suite of the C130s. The new avionics suite will include a full glass cockpit, modern navigation, communications and flight management systems. Besides enhancing mission effectiveness, the upgrades will improve the C-130 fleet’s reliability and reduce cost of operations and maintenance, as well as extend the lifespan of the fleet which has been in operation since 1977.  This contract commenced in 1Q2007 and will stretch for 7 years.

3.         Under the second contract, ST Aerospace will cover the maintenance of aircraft, engines, component maintenance, warehousing management, and material procurement for the A-4 SU Skyhawks that are based in Cazaux Air Base, France. This contract commenced on Mar 07 and will last for 4 years.

4.         These contracts reaffirm the strategic partnership between the RSAF and ST Aerospace. Over the years, the engineering company has provided a comprehensive range of aircraft, engine and component maintenance services to the RSAF for its A-4SU, F-5 and F-16 fighters, F-50 transport aircraft, KC-135 tankers, Marchetti S-211 trainers and Super Puma helicopters.
