MICA PRESS RELEASE: DR PATRICK HO, SECRETARY FOR HOME AFFAIRS, HONG KONG CALLS ON MINISTER LEE BOON YANG

            Dr Patrick Ho, Secretary for Home Affairs, Hong Kong called on Dr Lee Boon Yang, Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts this morning at MICA Building. Dr Patrick Ho is in Singapore for an official visit from 31 January – 3 February 2007 at the invitation of Dr Lee. 

 

2.          The Ministers had a good discussion on the developments in the arts, design and conservation sectors.  They also discussed how the two countries could promote more exchanges including participation in design festivals. 

 

3.         During his visit to Singapore, Dr Ho will visit several MICA agencies including the National Library, National Museum, National Archives, and the Asian Civilisations Museum. Dr Ho will also meet up with officials from the Preservation of Monuments Board and the Urban Redevelopment Authority for an overview of building preservation and conservation in Singapore.

 

4.         Dr Lee Boon Yang and Dr Patrick Ho will be officiating at the opening of ‘Spotlight Hong Kong’ at The Arts House on 2 Feb 07. This is a collaborative programme between Singapore and Hong Kong and will feature 120 Hong Kong artists from various arts genres.
