MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS (MHA) SINGAPORE & MINISTRY OF INTERNAL SECURITY (MOIS)- MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS (MOHA) MALAYSIA GAMES 2006

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Mr Wong Kan Seng, and officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs and its departments will be hosting the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) Singapore & Ministry of Internal Security (MOIS) – Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) Malaysia Games 2006. The games among the counterpart Ministries will be held on 2 Dec.

 

2          During the games, Malaysian Home Affairs Minister Dato Seri Mohd Radzi bin Sheikh Ahmad will meet DPM Wong. DPM Wong will also host a dinner for the delegates.

 

3          The Games are held annually to promote friendship and networking between MHA and its counterpart ministries on an informal basis through sporting activities. As with previous years, it will take the format of the “Bridges of Friendship Series” introduced in 2004, where games are played on a mixed team basis. Each of the two teams that will be formed throughout the games will comprise officers from both Singapore and Malaysia. Officers from both countries will not be competing with each other at a country level but participating as teammates. The games to be played this year are badminton, carom, darts, netball, table tennis, volleyball, bowling and golf.

 

 4          Last held in Penang, Malaysia in 2005, the ministries alternate in hosting Games.
