1.         A bilateral India-Singapore air force exercise, codenamed SINDEX, will be conducted at Air Force Station Kalaikunda in Kharagpur, West Bengal from 8 to 30 November 2006. This is the third such exercise between the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and the Indian Air Force (IAF).

2.         F-16 aircraft of the RSAF and MiG-27 and Bison fighter aircraft of the IAF will participate in the exercise. Ex SINDEX provides a valuable opportunity for the two air forces to learn from each other’s operational philosophy and tactics, as well as for India and Singapore to enhance defence cooperation, which also includes regular exchanges of visits and other professional interactions.
