Flag-Officer-in-Command of the Philippine Navy, Vice-Admiral Ernesto H De Leon, made an introductory call on Minister for Defence, Mr Teo Chee Hean, this morning. He also called on Chief of Navy, Rear-Admiral Ronnie Tay. Vice-Admiral de Leon, who attended the ASEAN Navies Interaction programme hosted by the Republic of Singapore Navy earlier this week, will depart Singapore this afternoon.

2.                     Vice-Admiral de Leon’s visit underscores the warm and friendly ties between the Singapore Armed Forces and the Armed Forces of the Philippines. There are regular bilateral interactions, including the cross-attendance of professional courses.
