COMMANDER ROYAL BRUNEI LAND FORCE RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS MILITARY AWARD

The Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force, Pehin Colonel Dato Paduka Haji Abdu’r Rahmani bin Dato Paduka Haji Basir, was conferred Singapore’s prestigious military award, the Pingat Jasa Gemilang (Tentera), or Meritorious Service Medal (Military), by Minister for Defence, Teo Chee Hean, at an investiture ceremony in the Ministry of Defence this morning.

 

2.      The Meritorious Service Medal (Military) was awarded to Pehin Colonel Dato Rahmani in recognition of the significant role he has played in forging closer ties between the Royal Brunei Land Force and the Singapore Army. Beyond strengthening the professional ties between the two armies through bilateral exercises such as Exercise Maju Bersama and Exercise Dragonball, Pehin Colonel Dato Rahmani has also actively pursued the development of good ties between the Brunei and Singapore armies through various interactions and professional forums. These activities have enhanced the professional rapport and camaraderie between the officers and men of the two armies.

 

3.      Pehin Colonel Dato Rahmani, who is in Singapore from 23 to 25 Jan, also called on Minister Teo and Chief of Defence Force, Lieutenant-General Ng Yat Chung, before his investiture ceremony.
