MFA SPOKESMAN'S COMMENTS ON UNSC RESOLUTION 1546 (2004)

In response to press queries, the MFA Spokesman said:

"Singapore welcomes the adoption of UNSC Resolution 1546 (2004) which will effectively hand over full sovereignty to the Iraqi people on 30 June 2004.

The unanimous adoption of the resolution, which also enjoys the support of the Interim Government of Iraq, sends a clear message of international unity and determination to win the struggle in the global war against terrorism, of which Iraq has been a central battleground."
