STATE VISIT OF PRESIDENT S R NATHAN TO THE REPUBLIC OF INDIA
President S R Nathan will make a State visit to the Republic of India from 3 to 11 January 2003 at the invitation of President APJ Abdul Kalam.
President Nathan will be accompanied by Mrs Nathan; Mr Lee Yock Suan, Minister in Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs; Mr Khaw Boon Wan, Senior Minister of State for Transport and Information, Communications and the Arts; Mr Inderjit Singh, Member of Parliament (Ang Mo Kio GRC) and Deputy Chairman of the Finance and Trade & Industry Government Parliamentary Committee (GPC); Dr Mohamed Maliki bin Osman, Member of Parliament (Sembawang) and a member of the Defence and Foreign Affairs Government Parliamentary Committee; and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
President Nathan is scheduled to visit New Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. In New Delhi, President Nathan will meet President APJ Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
During President Nathan's absence, Mr Lim Kim San, Chairman of the Council of Presidential Advisers, will be Acting President.
