BG GEORGE YEO, MINISTER FOR TRADE AND INDUSTRY
TO VISIT BELGIUM, NORWAY, SWEDEN AND DENMARK
26 JUNE – 5 JULY 2001
Minister for Trade and Industry, BG George Yeo will visit Belgium, Norway, Sweden and Denmark from 26 June to 5 July 2001.
In Belgium, Minister Yeo will participate in the seminar " Europe in Asia: The Outlook for ASEAN-EU Relations" organised by Forum Europe. Minister Yeo will co-deliver the opening address with European Commissioner for Trade, Mr Pascal Lamy. Besides Mr Lamy, Minister will be meeting European Commissioner for External Relations Mr Chris Patten; Chairman on the European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, External Trade and Research and Energy, Mr Carlos Westendorp; Belgian Minister for Economic Affairs, Mr Charles Picque; and Flemish Minister for Economy, Town and Country Planning and Media, Mr Dirk Van Mechelen.
In Norway, Sweden and Denmark, Minister will be meeting Norwegian Minister for Trade and Industry, Ms Grete Knudsen; Swedish Minister for Trade, Mr Leif Pagrotsky; Danish Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Mogens Lykketoft; and Danish Minister for Information Technology and Research, Mr Birte Weiss.
Minister Yeo will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Singapore Economic Development Board.
