I refer to the statement issued by Mr JB Jeyaretnam on behalf of the Open Singapore Centre which called on the Government to abolish the Internal Security Act (ISA) and ratification of all United Nations conventions on civic rights and liberties, labour conventions and conventions against torture.
These are not new issues. Mr Jeyaratnam had made them an issue at previous General Elections. If he is serious about these matters, he should make them an issue at the next General Elections. The people can then decide whether this is what they want.
