SUSPENSION OF FOODSTALL LICENCE
AT BLK 846 YISHUN RING ROAD #01-3603
UNDER THE POINTS DEMERIT SYSTEM
The Ministry of the Environment has suspended the licence of a foodstall at Blk 846 Yishun Ring Road #01-3603, which has accumulated a total of 16 demerit points within a 12-month period under the Points Demerit System. The period of suspension is for 2 weeks from 13 Sep 2000 to 26 Sep 2000.
2 The licensee of the foodstall, Mdm Aminah Bte Hamzah had accumulated 16 demerit points during the last 12 months for the following offences :

3 Under the Points Demerit System, if a licensee accumulates 12 demerit points or more during a 12-month period, his licence will either be suspended for 2 or 4 weeks or revoked, depending on his past records.
4 The Ministry takes a serious view of the offences and would like to remind food operators not to engage unregistered foodhandlers and to observe good food and personal hygiene practices at all times. It would not hesitate to take firm action against anyone violating the Environmental Public Health (Food Hygiene) Regulations.
5 Members of the public can assist in maintaining a high standards of personal and food hygiene by calling the Ministry hotline 1800-731 9222 to provide feedback on malpractice by hawkers or operators of eating establishments.
