Singapore will be participating in the forthcoming 14^th ASEAN Labour Ministers’ Meeting (ALMM) to be held in Manila, the Philippines from 11 to 12 May 2000. The meeting was preceded by the 7^th Meeting of the ASEAN Sub-Committee on Labour Affairs (ASCLA) and the Senior Labour Officials’ Meeting (SLOM) on 9 and 10 May 2000 respectively.

The Minister for Manpower, Dr Lee Boon Yang, will be leading the Singapore delegation. He will be accompanied by the Permanent Secretary for Manpower, Dr Tan Chin Nam, and three other officials from the Ministry.

The aim of the annual meeting is to provide a forum for the ASEAN Labour Ministers to meet and discuss labour issues of common concerns, including technical cooperation and matters relating to the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
