DPM Lee Hsien Loong will be making an official visit to Vietnam from 17-20 April 2000 at the invitation of Vietnam’s Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

During the visit, DPM Lee will call on Permanent DPM Dung, General Secretary Le Kha Phieu and Prime Minister Phan Van Khai in Hanoi, and meet top leaders in the provincial government in Ho Chi Minh City. DPM Lee will also visit the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park and the Vietnam-Singapore Technical Training Centre.

During DPM Lee's absence, Dr Tony Tan, DPM and Minister for Defence, will be the Acting Prime Minister.
