PRESS STATEMENT

"LIVE" BROADCAST OF THE FY99 BUDGET

The Minister for Finance, Dr Richard Hu Tsu Tau, will deliver this year's Budget Statement on 26 Feb 99 in Parliament. The Budget Statement will be broadcast "live" on the Internet and television.

The public can visit the Budget Speech web site at http://www.mediacity.com.sg/budget99/ to view the Internet broadcast. The Internet broadcast will carry the video and audio broadcast as well as the text of the speech.

The public can also go directly to the following web sites to read or download the text of the Budget Speech which will be available immediately after the delivery of the speech:

Viewers will need to download and install the latest version of Windows Media Player to view the Internet broadcast. More information on the downloading and installation is available on the Help option of the Budget Speech web site.
