SINGAPORE PUBLIC HOLIDAYS FOR THE YEAR 1999

The dates for the eleven specified public holidays for 1999 are as follows:

New Year’s Day Friday 1^st January

Hari Raya Puasa Tuesday 19^th January

Chinese New Year Tuesday 16^th February Wednesday 17^th February

Hari Raya Haji *Sunday 28^th March

Good Friday Friday 2^nd April

Labour Day Saturday 1^st May

Vesak Day Saturday 29^th May

National Day Monday 9^th August

Deepavali *Sunday 7^th November

Christmas Day Saturday 25^th December

* The following Monday will be a public holiday.

2 The date, 7 November 1999, for Deepavali is based on the calculations as before. It will be counter-checked with the Indian Almanacs when they are available towards the end of 1998 as the actual Deepavali date is based on the Indian Almanacs. Should there be a difference, the Ministry of Manpower would announce it accordingly towards the end of 1998.
