 The Minister-President of Flanders, Mr Luc Van den Brande, will be visiting Singapore with a delegation of officials and businessmen from 25 to 27 February 1998. The Flanders is an economically dynamic region of Belgium. Mr Van den Brande’s visit aims to promote technological and economic exchanges between Flanders and Singapore. His visit demonstrates Belgium’s confidence in Singapore’s economy and signals Belgium’s interest to remain involved in the Asia-Pacific region.

During his stay in Singapore, Mr Van den Brande will call on Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong. He will also meet the Minister for Communications, Mr Mah Bow Tan, and the Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr Lee Yock Suan. The Minister for Information and the Arts and Second Minister for Trade and Industry, BG George Yeo, will host Mr Van den Brande and his delegation to a lunch.
