Although Deutsche-Grammophon’s Hindenburg label (which consisted of records produced for the Southeast Asian market) was discontinued in 1930, the company continued to hold recording sessions in Singapore. These new recordings were issued under the Pagoda label, and distributed locally by Mong Huat & Co. Mong Huat & Co. had also been the local distributors for Hindenburg records.
As the actual records were pressed in Germany, the progressing war in Europe eventually put a stop to all recording and production of Pagoda records by the late 1930s.
