  • Synopsis :

    Join archivists Fiona Tan and Christabel Khoo as they share highlights from the Straits Settlements Records, a 170-volume set of handwritten manuscript records. Learn more about the background of these records that were transferred from the Colonial Secretary’s Library to the Archives unit of the Raffles Museum and Library in 1938. Find out how these records dating back to the 1800s continue to be relevant to the study of Singapore history today.

    About the Speakers
    Fiona Tan is an Archivist with the Records Management department at the National Archives of Singapore. She was previously posted to the Archives Reading Room where she enjoyed discussing with users how to research the Straits Settlements Records.

    Christabel Khoo is an Assistant Archivist with the Records Management department at the National Archives of Singapore. She previously oversaw the Citizen Archivist Project and has seen firsthand how the Straits Settlements Records have continued to engage new researchers.
