  • Synopsis :

This is a recording of stories on the food culture in Singapore as told by locals and experts in a National Day special feature. It highlights the amalgamation of various cultures in Singapore – Chinese, Malay, Indian, as well as the minorities – and how it manifests into a gastronomical culture that has been dubbed a ‘national past time’. With personal accounts of how locals enjoy foods outside their culture and adapt particular cuisines to suit their palate, this cross-cultural exposure extends from school canteens to work cafeterias to the hawker centres symbolic of the Singaporean identity.
