    1. Singapore:  Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said Singapore will need to develop new arrangements to help the elderly work as long as they can. Sound bites of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Deputy Secretary-General of National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) Heng Chee How. (00:02:21)

    2. Singapore: NTUC said this development is not unexpected as companies face up to the realities of the economic downturn.     3. Gaza: The conflict in Gaza escalated as unknown militants fired rockets into northern Israel from Lebanon. At least three rockets were fired at the northern Israeli town injuring two women. (00:06:57)

    6. Britain: British bosses are unhappy about a television commercial for Benylin, a cold remedy. Employers say the ad encourages people to call in sick as soon as they get a sniffle, which cost them money in already serious economic times.     7. China: Millions of Chinese are journeying back home earlier this year for the annual Lunar New Year celebrations, creating chaos for transport officials in China.(00:15:03)

    9. Singapore: 26-year-old kitchen cleaner, Sallehan Allaudin has been charged with the murder of his two-year-old daughter, Natalie Nikie Alisyia Sallehan. (00:17:03)

    10. Singapore: Commuters can exchange their old ez-link cards with new ones from tomorrow. Adult ez-link cards can be exchanged at post offices, TransitLink ticket offices and selected bus interchanges. Child, student and tertiary concession cards can be exchanged from 16 February.     16. Sports Tonight: Defending champions USA have been knocked out of the Hopman Cup after a 2-1 defeat to Germany.(00:25:52)

    17. Sports Tonight: Singapore Ironman and ultra-marathon runner Lim Nghee Huat is set to run 217 km non-stop in Brazil, from 23 January. The Singapore Table Tennis Association will give out pledge cards at a dinner where guests can donate for every kilometre that Mr Lim runs.(00:26:38)

    18. Singapore: The annual Chingay Parade will be held at the end of the month. The Singapore Tourism Board and the Tote Board will be introducing their own floats for the first time.(00:28:10)
