Synopsis :A 50-strong delegation from the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce visits the Iskandar Development Region (IDR) in Johor to look into areas of cooperation. This 2,217 square kilometre economic zone will have an education hub, a medical hub, a new Johor State Administrative Center and residential buildings when completed. Chairman of the Port of Tanjung Pelepas, Datuk Mohd Sidik Osman speaks of high foreign investor interest in the IDR because of its good infrastructure and close proximity to Singapore. Malaysia's High Commissioner to Singapore, Dato N Parameswaran highlights the importance of strong economic cooperation between Malaysia and Singapore while Philip Overmyer from the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce touches on the Malaysian government's commitment to make this project succeed. Mr A.Y Angullia, Managing Director of ST & T International Pte Ltd, a company dealing with hospitality products hopes to identify a suitable site in the IDR for his company's next project. Singapore and Malaysia have agreed to set up a joint Ministerial committee to look into Singapore investments in the IDR.
