Synopsis :

On the first day of school, Mrs Wong comes personally to thank Chun. She asks about the total cost of 12 years of education for Siu Meng. Chun says it will cost about $25,000, a sum that worries her. Chun finds out from Siu Meng that his father had abandoned his mother and him. Siu Meng tells Chun that his mother works late, sometimes returning home only in the early morning. Chun and Gou wonder why Mrs Wong has not come to fetch Siu Meng home for the Christmas holidays. On Christmas, the two men visit Gum Leng Nightclub where a popular singer, Hong Mui, is drawing in the crowds. Chun hears a familiar voice and recognises Hong Mui as Mrs Wong. Gou advises Chun not to confront Mrs Wong.
