This record contains excerpts of Singapore's Minister for Foreign Affairs, S. Rajaratnam, being interviewed on Singapore's attitude to the Indo-Pakistani conflict over Kashmir.

Deputy Prime Minister Toh Chin Chye is interviewed on how the presence of the British military base in Singapore should not be seen as stepping stone for an offensive into China or Indonesia and that Britain should not create such an impression. He speaks on Singapore's desire to learn more details about Britain's impending withdrawal of troops from the region. He states that the pullout would affect Singapore both on the economic side and the defence side.

Deputy Prime Minister Toh Chin Chye speaks on how it is in the interests of Asia for China to join the United Nations and take a permanent seat on the Security Council. He also states that by admitting China into the United Nations, Taiwan should be given the right to self-determination.
