Synopsis :

Siew Chuen and Ah Gei go on a date. Ah Gei knows Chuen's mother has a good impression of him and she plans to prey on Guen. Ah Gei proposes to Chuen. At this point, a robber holds them at knife point and demands their cash and valuables. He is unhappy with the little that Ah Gei can offer so he turns to Chuen. Ah Gei attacks the robber out of fear for Chuen's safety. He beats the robber up and the robber flees, leaving cash and a gold watch. They take the cash and watch to the police station to file a report. Guen asks Fok for an update. He wants Chuen to be his mistress before handing the cash over for a new shop. Fok feels it is difficult as Sam Gu says a movie company has approached Chuen for screen tests, so she would want the money up front. Guen says he will provide $10,000 upfront but Fok thinks Chuen will not agree. Guen wants Fok to arrange for him to visit Sam Gu that night. Fok gives $50 to Ah Gei to collect two new songs from Mr Hu. After Ah Gei leaves, Fok tells Chuen of Guen's interest in her. Guen is from a wealthy family but is not as rich as his wife. His wife has a new job now and is too busy to keep tabs on him but Chuen feels it would be wrong to break a family up. Fok delivers the song sheets to Guen just as his wife, Ding Ying, steps into the office. Ding Ying tries to sing one of them but finds it too difficult. She then asks Guen to go to tea with her.

Sum Bao Guen and Fok are looking at music scores when Ding Ying comes to the office to ask Guen out to tea. Guen tells Fok to send the scores for amendments. Ah Gei brings the scores back to Mr Hu but Mr Hu refuses to make any changes. Guen says if Chuen can manage, he will accept them. They discuss the business which is not doing well because of competition from new record shops. That evening, Guen and Fok visit Sam Gu while Chuen is out shopping. Guen wants to set up a record shop in Chuen's name but Sam Gu says her daughter is not experienced and might not be able to manage a shop. Fok proposes appointing Ah Gei as the sales manager and with Ah Gei's presence, nobody will suspect Guen as the person with the start-up capital. Chan Suet Hsiang invites Ah Gei to tea and suggests he resigns and joins her in the new company. With his sales experience, she predicts he can earn $700 to $800 a month as there will be commission. Ah Gei is reluctant to leave so Hsiang says Siew Chuen has many suitors and he is likely to fail in his pursuit of her. Hsiang presents herself as a suitable spouse, Ah Gei declines.
