Synopsis :- Graduation Ball:
Set in Vienna during the 1850's this all is held in celebration of the senior students' graduation from a girl's finishing school. Their partners for the occasion are the cadets from a nearby military academy who join with the girls in a series of happy divertissements. Before the evening draws to a close, old friendships are newnewed and new ones commenced under the watchful and often disapproving eyes of the headmistress.
- Les Nuits D'ete:
Based on five songs of the same name, for soprano and orchesta, the ballet is an abstract evocation and rendering of the four seasons of a woman - from childhood to old age - reminiscence of love, youth, absence, death and the return of spring and joy. in spite of the inevitability of loneliness and grief, there is also the promise of hope and the return to a constant cycle of life and birth.
- Raymonda III:
Set in chivalric times, the ballet tells the story of Raymonda, betrothed to Jean De Brienne. When her fiancee is engaged in the crusades, his rival, the Saracan knight, Abdourachman thrusts his attentions upon Raymonda, threatening to abduct her. Happily, De Brienne returns in time to foil the abduction and slays the would-be seducer. In the final act from which this Grand Pas Classique is excerpted, Raymonda and Jean De Brienne celebrate their wedding.
