Synopsis :

In an interview with the press, Mr David Spence Thomson from New Zealand says that he is very Impressed with the motivation of the young men in the Singapore Armed Forces Training Institute (SAFTI) and the zest and vigour they have put into their training. They are training with admirable intensity and he is Impressed with the professionalism at the training centre. Its training facilities are very good and provide a solid basis for the development of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF). The Institute will also set a good example to all training establishments. SAFTI is one of the best institutes he has seen in Southeast Asia in terms of dedication, spirit and facilities He would like to maintain personal contact with the SAF training establishment. One SAF officer is coming to New Zealand on 16 April 1968 for six months of training with the New Zealand Army. Mr Thomson looks forward to having him there and hopes that similar contacts will be possible in the years ahead.
