  • Synopsis :

The film is about a group of underdogs who form a soccer team to play in a competition where the prize is a trip to the 2002 World Cup Finals. Gurmit Singh plays Tai Po, a working class widower who has promised to take his children on a vacation. He hopes to achieve his goal by winning this competition. The rest of the 'Durians' include Handsome (Mark Lee), Vernon (Moe Alkaff) and Kim (Sharon Au), while Sammy Best (Siva Choy) plays an alcoholic former soccer legend who moulds them into a winning side. Teamwork is central to the movie. This story is built around the 'Durians' struggle to rise from hopeless losers to title contenders. Our character's problems are reflected on the pitch, and through soccer, they learn not only sportsmanship, but life lessons, which help them to mature as individuals. Ultimately, they help each other to become better human beings.
