    1.  Indonesia: The alleged leader of Jemaah Islamiyah, Abu Bakar Bashir, has been hospitalized and will not be attending police questioning for his alleged involvement in bomb attacks in Indonesia two years ago. This might be a tactic to stall for time. (00:03:00)

    2.  Indonesia: Indonesian President Megawati Sukarnoputri is working hard to finalise an emergency anti-terror decree expected to be issued tonight. The decree will give the government powers to impose the death penalty on those guilty of terrorism and detain suspects without trial for a year. (00:04:14)

    7.  Business: The Finance Ministry is pushing ahead with compulsory quarterly reporting for all listed firms starting January 1st   despite some reservations from the industry with the recent corporate scandals in the US. (00:14:34)

    8.  Business: Singapore shares ended the day mixed, dragged lower later in the day by profit taking in blue chips after the recent gains. (00:14:59)

    9.  North Korea: The United States wants a diplomatic solution to end North Korea's nuclear weapons programme. Yesterday, North Korea admitted to having a secret nuclear weapons programme which violates the 1994 agreed framework between the two countries. (00:15:31)

    10.  Philippines: Philippine authorities are launching a manhunt for the four suspects of yesterday's twin blasts which killed seven people and injured more than 160. (00:16:03)

    11.  Hong Kong: Hong Kong singer Roman Tam is critically ill in hospital with liver cancer. (00:16:36)

    12.  Tokyo: Deputy Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong says that the Bali bombings have hurt the prospects of Southeast Asia as a whole. He urged Japanese investors to look at Southeast Asia as a competitive alternative to China. Sound bite of DPM Lee. (00:17:04)

    13.  Singapore: Two primary six boys were knocked down whilst cycling along Tanjong Katong Road at about 1pm. One died on the spot. (00:18:44)

    14.  Sports: Disabled athletes here have been given a $100 000 boost which will be used as incentives for them to win medals.
