  • Synopsis :

    1)  Singapore: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) announces that it is awaiting Malaysia's reply on outstanding bilateral issues like water and the Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) railway line. (00:02:50)

    2)  Singapore: Deputy Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong responds to predictions by economists that Singapore will experience 4% growth and says it will take a few months before Singapore can be sure if the economy has turned around. DPM Lee also responds to queries on an article which touched on the issue of Muslim girls wearing head scarves to school. Sound bite of DPM Lee. (00:05:10)

    3)  Singapore: The Ministry of Education (MOE) has announced that they have counselled the parents of four pupils from 4 different primary schools who have not complied with rules over wearing head scarves. It also revealed that Mr. Zulfikar Shariff had accompanied two of the pupils' parents to the school to argue for their daughters to wear head scarves to class. (00:06:55)

    4)  Singapore: The Medical Education Review Panel calls for a second medical school to be built within the next ten years and also recommends allowing a second "graduate only" intake at the National University of Singapore (NUS) for doctors without delay.
