Synopsis :Before long, Shi receives news that his wife is killed. He proposes to Mei, who turns him down explaining that she wants to wait for Chi. Shi tells her that Chi will not marry her because he is now a high-ranking government official while she is a poor flower vendor. After some hesitation, Mei accepts Shi's marriage proposal to seek revenge on Chi. Chi is devastated by her decision to marry Shi.
