  • Synopsis :

The cooperation between Wu and Shu is reported to Cao Pi, who feels that the best move is to strike first. He commands an army to subdue Wu. Sima Yi suggests leading vessels to advance by way of River Huai. The plan is accepted. Cao Pi orders the construction of ten dragon ships to carry two thousand marines each. He is confident that he can win the battle. Meanwhile, Sun Quan is informed of Cao Pi's plan and employs Xu Sheng to lead the army. Xu Sheng gives the command to amass huge numbers of weapons, and also has many flags and banners made for the protection of the river banks. When Cao Pi's dragon ships reach Guangling and get to the river bank, they are ambushed from both sides by Wu and Shu troops. The Wei troops are badly defeated and Cao Pi flees.
