Synopsis :On his mother's birthday, Sheng, a poor scholar, and his wife pray to the God at dawn. As they kneel in prayer, the food on the altar mysteriously disappears. Later, due to financial difficulties, Sheng has to make his way to the capital to take the imperial examinations on foot. He meets Lu one night and the latter brings him to meet his boss. Lu's boss is actually Yan Wang, a Hell King, who treats Sheng to a feast. After explaining his reason of meeting him, Yan Wang gives Sheng some gold and then sends him back to the world of the living at dawn.
