Synopsis :Nanxiong county is situated in the northeast part of Guangdong province and Zhujixiang lies about 30 li north from the city of Nanxiong. In the Southern Song dynasty, Su Fei, a concubine of the emperor, had eloped with Huang Zhuwan, a merchant of Zhujixiang. Shortly after, the residents of the Zhujixiang fled southward and resettled in the Pearl River Delta out of fear of persecution by the imperial court. Su Fei killed herself by jumping into a well before the arrival of the imperial troops so as not to involve any innocent party.
