Synopsis :Wu Gorge, the second gorge of the Three Gorges of Yangtze River, straddles Sichuan and Hubei provinces. The twelve peaks of the Wu Mountain are situated on both banks of the Wu Gorge. Among them, the most fabulous is the Shennu Feng or the Peak of Goddess. At its summit there is a stele which is in shape of a maiden. There are some popular legends relating to it. One of them says that the maiden is Yaoji, the daughter of the Heavenly Mother, who helped the Emperor Dayu to tame the raging waters there.
