  • Synopsis :

This programme consists of several short segments in which a particular saying from a famous philosopher or thinker is discussed. This clip features sayings from Confucius which analyse when one should voice their opinions, and when one should allow their opinions to be swayed by others. Next, poet Tong Yun Meng(陶渊明) likens life to being in the desert where one can lose their way very easily. In which case, what should one do to find their direction once again? The next segment compares the saying of a 16th century English writer to the Chinese saying, "when sailing against the currents, if you're not moving forwards, you will be swept backwards." This segment encourages listeners by advocating perseverance. Next Sun Tzu advises that for every problem, there is a solution.
