Ep. 3
Later, Lida leaves the house to get help. Immediately after Lida left, Likui carries his mother on his back and hurries along a small path towards the mountain. At night, his mother is thirsty so Likui goes to find water for her. When Likui returns, he finds that his mother is missing. Following the bloodstains, he sees two tiger cubs gnawing upon a human leg. Fuming, he kills them immediately. He then rushes into the tigers' den and kills another two adult tigers later. He is so tired after killing the four tigers that he falls asleep in a chapel until daybreak.
Ep. 4
Likui and some hunters later bring the dead tigers to Cao's manor. Many villagers, including Ligui's wife, flock to the manor to see the dead beasts. Coincidentally, Ligui's wife has fled to this village to live with her parents. She recognises Likui and informs immediately the village head, who quietly sends a man for Cao. Later, Cao plots with Ligui's wife to capture Likui to hand him over to the authorities for a reward. After Likui is drugged, Cao ties him up. The magistrate sends constable Liyun to Cao's manor to escort Likui to the court.
Ep. 5
Zhugui hears about Likui's arrest, so he goes with his brother, Zhufu, to rescue Likui. At night, they wait along the secluded mountain trail for Liyun. Incidentally, Liyun teaches Zhufu in lance and staff. The brothers drug the unsuspecting Liyun and his guards with food and wine. After Likui gets free, he kills all the guards, Cao, Ligui's wife and the village head. Later, Zhufu persuades Liyun to go with them to Liangshan Marsh. Liyun has no choice but to agree.
Ep. 6
One day Leiheng, a constable head, visits Songjiang but he refuses to join them on the mountain because of his mother. Shortly after returning home, Leiheng goes to watch a performance, but forgets to bring any money with him. The singer, Xiuying, keeps pestering him to pay up. Leiheng is angry and hits Xiuying's father. Incidentally, Xiuying is the magistrate's courtesan. For some reason, Xiuying slaps Leiheng's mother. Leiheng is so angry that he kills Xiuying accidentally. Leiheng is exiled to Jizhou but is later released by the guard, Zhutong, who is his good friend. Leiheng leaves immediately with his mother for Liangshan Marsh.
