Synopsis :

In this time of fear and uncertainty during COVID-19, our hearts go out to those who are sick, their families, caregivers as well as all the frontline healthcare workers in Singapore giving their utmost best to help the patients and keep strong. Students from Fairfield Methodist School (Primary) would like to show their support and gratitude to all the healthcare workers working at the frontline. Apart from preparing cards and writing personal messages of appreciation, one of our student - Jacob Neo (Primary 6B) composed a song, entitled, “Singapore, Unite as One!” This song was written as part of the Learning for Life Programme (LLP) which focuses on building empathy through the arts. Despite not having any formal music education outside school, and only having his first taste in songwriting in 2019 learnt during Music lessons, also known as the General Music Programme (GMP), he wrote both melody and lyrics in just three days! Message by student-songwriter, Jacob Neo Yi Zhong: "Hello, everyone! I'm Jacob Neo from Fairfield Methodist School (Primary) and I'm 12 years old. I wrote this song as I wish to encourage the healthcare workers to press on, the COVID-19 patients to stay strong and to my fellow Singaporeans - Unite as One!"
