  • Synopsis :

Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew expresses his delight over the transformation of Singapore over the last five years and he is glad to note that the government did not falter when the merger with Malaysia did not work out. Singapore has learnt from past mistakes and is moving forward with great determination to achieve prosperity and a greater future for her people. He also encourages the people to aim for a higher target from this point forth and he says that it is only when we make up our minds that we will make it. As with the government's policy, he maintains that family planning is necessary in order to be able to provide a better future for the younger generation and it is also the goal of the government to provide better housing and living conditions for the people.
