Synopsis :In his speech at the King Edward VII Hall's dinner at College Road Minister for Foreign Affairs and Labour S Rajaratnam focuses on Singapore's future and the stand the medical students should take.
He stresses Singapore is on its own and the present government's policy is to do the right thing for Singapore, and not do popular things, to ensure Singapore's future. He tells the medical students they could be good doctors and dentists, but they must make up their minds to be 'doctors and citizens', and more important to 'be better citizens than to be doctors'.
With that decision, Minister is confident Singapore's future is assured for '150 years and another 150 years'.
