Synopsis :In his speech, Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew speaks of how New Delhi's struggle for independence and freedom from imperial domination has inspired the world. PM Lee also praises New Delhi for the role that it played in initiating the right attitude towards finding a solution for poverty, misery and ignorance and he foresees that in 20 years' time, New Delhi would 'invoke new responses, represent a people who would discover themselves in a modern community'. Lastly, he extends his well wishes to the people of New Delhi.
