Synopsis :In his address at the Singapore National Union of Journalists (SNUJ) Luncheon, Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Tun Abdul Razak says that confrontation against Malaysia is a result of Indonesian President Sukarno's imperialism. Sukarno is envious of Malaysia's progress and success in nation building. If Malaysia followed the Indonesian example of continuous revolution after independence, then it would be as downtrodden as Indonesia is today. As Malaysia's success showed up his own failures, he embarked on his crush Malaysia policy. Tun Razak likens Malaysia's democracy to a jet plane which travels on auto-pilot after gaining speed and Sukarno's dictatorship to a bulldozer which can fall backwards. He also touches on ultra-nationalist UMNO leaders who are inciting communal feelings and harming racial harmony, Malaysia's defence build up with the help of Commonwealth allies and the arrest of Malaysian political leaders who have confessed that they wanted to set up a government in exile. He calls on Afro-Asian countries to give moral support to Malaysia in the interest of safeguarding the security of small nations.
