This is a recording of an interview with the leader of the Royal Nobat Orchestra from Kedah, Malaysia. In this interview, the leader or 'Kalur Besar' explains in detail the origins of Nobat,it's many traditions, the instruments used , the selection of it's members and also how they train for their performances. Samples of Nobat music are included. Song titles include, ' Lagu Belayar', ' Gendang Anak', 'Sepindin', 'Lumat', 'Sadarona' and 'Gendang Perang'.
