Synopsis :

Tape consists of 4 speeches by the Chairman of the Celebration Committee, the Director of People's Association, Sim Boon Peng, the Committee's Secretary, and the Minister of Defence, Dr Goh Keng Swee.

Dr Goh, who was also the Member of Parliament for Kreta Ayer, called for the people to support the government and cooperate in working hard for Singapore's future. Dr Goh also summarised the government's achievements in housing, education and industrialisation.
