    This is a recording of speeches in Malay and English, delivered by NTUC Secretary-General Mr C.V. Devan Nair at the 28th Anniversary Celebration of The Singapore Traction Company (STC) Employees' Union. Welcome speeches were delivered by several other officials including The Acting Managing-Director of the Company, the Union's Treasurer and a representative from the International Transport Workers' Federation.

    In his speech, Mr Devan Nair touched on:
    - Other factors which can affect the fortunes of transport workers;
    - The democratic rights of trade unions;
    - The withdrawal of the democratic rights of trade unions in the name of emergency situation in Malaysia;
    - The indivisibility of democratic trade unionism in the world.
