Synopsis :Church interior; Master-Of-Ceremony (MC) welcoming Guest-Of-Honour , Mrs Lee Kuan Yew; handbells performance by the girls; MC acknowledging the marking of Methodist Girls' School (MGS) as a heritage site as a milestone in its history; hymn followed by prayer.
Speech on MGS history which began when Sophia Blackmore started a school teaching nine Indian girls on 15 August 1887; another speech on Founder's Day being commemorated on 25 July over the last 30 years; slide show presented by two ex-MGS girls; closing prayer; Mrs Lee and officials proceeding to Short Street for unveiling of sculpture to mark MGS as a heritage site, with proceedings transmitted 'live' through close-circuit television to the church sanctuary; Mrs Lee unveiling sculpture; Mrs Lee being presented with a token of appreciation.
