    Hosted by David Bellamy, the second part of the documentary series assesses the development impact on Singapore's environment. Video shows how energy is efficiently harnessed in factories; social and economic indicators of the country such as human development index, education standard and literacy rates; cleanup of the Singapore River and Kallang Basin in 1977 to reduce pollution; treatment works that deal with pollution from sewage; treatment of toxic waste and sludge; recycling of treated effluent for further use in industries and public gardens; protection of coral reefs; use of rivers and estuaries as reservoirs; damage control process for oil spill; efficient transportation system; negative impact from greehouse effect, CFCs, carbon dioxide and from high energy consumption industries such as timber; wildlife protection at the zoo.
